Dallas Newborn Portrait Session- Look at all this love!

Photographing newborns is such an honor and this beautiful little girl’s Dallas newborn portrait session was such a joy!  Most newborn portrait sessions take place around 2 weeks after birth.  However, this little one was around 9 weeks old when I had the pleasure of taking her pictures.  What I love so much about this session is it’s a PERFECT example of why it doesn’t matter when your baby has her newborn portraits- the important thing is that you HAVE newborn portraits!  When you see her pictures, you’ll see how absolutely precious they are!  Plus, older newborns are awake a little bit more than 2 week old newborns.  This means I get to capture those amazing connection portraits with mom and dad.  Wait till you see her smiling at her dad and the gorgeous grin she gives her momma!  Between her sleepy pictures and those adorable smiling ones, this Dallas newborn portrait session had everything!

Age is Just A Number

A lot of photographers prefer not photograph older newborns.  I am so thankful they don’t.  Why?  Because I LOVE photographing older newborns!  So many moms and babies need a little extra time after delivery to make sure they’re healthy and strong enough to head home.  That is absolutely the priority!  No matter how “old” your baby is, I will still create beautiful, timeless portraits that will perfectly preserve this fleeting little moment in your newborn’s life!

The Look of Love

Connection portraits are so special, especially for newborn portraits!  During this Dallas newborn portrait session, this sweet little girl was awake for a little bit.  During this time, I was able to photograph her looking up at both her mom and dad.  We so often think of the sleeping, squishy portraits when we think of newborn photos.  However, so many parents love having these connection portraits too.  Plus, years from now, they will be true treasures for both you and your child.

You Look Beautiful

Mom wore a dress from my studio closet and it was perfect on her!  For most new moms, it’s so difficult to know ahead of time what size you’ll be after the delivery.  Plus, your body has gone through so much.  It can be challenging to even feel like yourself.  Many moms are uncomfortable with the thought of someone photographing them at this time.  That’s why I love providing dresses for moms.  I want you to feel beautiful and special!  That’s why I encourage moms to use one of my gorgeous figure flattering dresses.

Something Special

I started this Dallas newborn portrait session with this sweet baby wrapped tightly.  She loves having her hands free and believe me, she ultimately got her way!  But when your little one is wrapped snugly, they fall asleep faster.  As the session progresses, I continue to unwrap the fabric.  Ultimately, we end with those adorable diaper cover portraits!  This family had a beautiful pink receiving blanket they brought with them.  It was a special piece given to them by the father’s mother.  I loved incorporating it in to the session.  Family heirlooms and significant gifts such as this are a perfect way to truly personalize your Dallas newborn portrait session.
